A solo fashion show by world-renowned designer Kim Jung-ah of LANEYU, regarded as a pioneer of the Korean Wave in fashion, was successfully held on the 7th at the Art Hall of the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.
The event drew a large crowd, including fashion industry figures from across Asia and around the world, as well as tourists visiting DDP. Each piece presented on the runway captivated the audience, drawing admiration and applause.
In particular, Kim Jung-ah’s designs, revealed through a spectacular and grand stage production, showcased both artistic depth and originality, prompting enthusiastic reactions from the audience. Industry insiders noted that the show “once again demonstrated why she is considered a leading figure in Hallyu fashion and one of Korea’s most representative designers.”
Designer Kim Jung-ah said, “The theme of this fashion show is to pursue a vivid transformation for 2026. Through fashion, I wanted to express the emotions and energy of a new era.”
She added, “LANEYU will continue focusing on introducing the identity of Korean fashion to the world. In the second half of this year, we plan to hold a fashion show in the Middle East and launch offline pop-up stores in the United States and other regions.”
The event was hosted by singer and MC Lee Se-on, while soprano Jeon Seon-mi and tenor Heo Nam-won performed congratulatory classical pieces that added elegance and sophistication to the fashion show.
Kim Jung-ah has been actively engaged on the global fashion stage, participating in major events such as the Prêt-à-Porter collections, Milan Fashion Week, fashion shows in Shanghai, and fashion projects with Middle Eastern royal circles. She is widely regarded as one of the key figures who helped establish the global stature of today’s K-fashion.
Meanwhile, Kim Jung-ah has also continued philanthropic activities through fashion art. Recently, she held a special fashion show with Giving Plus at the Grand Theater of Gwacheon Civic Center, presenting creations made from repurposed discarded materials. The show went beyond a conventional runway presentation, delivering a message of sharing and hope. Part of the proceeds was donated to support underprivileged communities, adding further meaning to the event.
